Un equipo hispano-francés ha estudiado el desarrollo y la organización del territorio de la ciudad antigua de Villajoyosa, desde la época orientalizante al Imperio romano. Ha llevado a cabo la excavación de un santuario en el límite de la ciudad (siglo IV a. C. - 70 d. C.), donde se ofrecían pebeteros. El análisis del material pone de relieve la importancia del consumo de vajilla griega o itálica, así como de una gran variedad de vasijas de tipo púnico, en esta ciudad marítima.
