Así define el autor este singular libro de versos quelogró en 2019 el XLV Premio de Poesía del Certamen Literario del Concello de Vilalba (Lugo).  El Poema da Rúa das Aves es «imagen en poesía, poesía en imagen». Surge de un hecho tan real como profundamente poético: en el barrio vilalbés de Porta de Cima cada casa era tradicionalmente denominada a partir de un original nombre de ave (que el autor personifica como «Andoriña do Rego», «Moucha Sagrario», «Bubela Engracia»...). Sobre esta historia, y utilizando técnicas cinematográficas, Miguel Barrera elabora un seductor homenaje en verso a este barrio de su villa natal, composiciones que son también un tributo a los poetas de Vilalba. A partir de este ámbito íntimo, Barrera construye toda una metáfora de Galicia. Este poemario incluye once fotografías del barrio de Porta de Cima.
