Però com passa sovint amb algunes biografies, i en aquest cas la de Juli Garreta, calia revisar dades documentades dels seus orígens familiars per tal d'aclarir tot un seguit d'informacions contradictòries que l'autora ha trobat en diverses publicacions referides al músic. Al mateix temps calia donar a conèixer que potser no és del tot cert que les úniques lliçons que van rebre fossin les del seu pare i les del mestre Ramon Novi, tal com ja apunten algunes de les seves biografies, perquè, com aquí aquest treball demostra, durant la seva estada a Vilanova i la Geltrú va ser alumne de Magí Sans Bartomeu.
