Abstract The Republican Federal party performed a minor role in Spanish politics during the Second Republic. The Pi y Margall’s supporters were organized into one score of important villages. Its history during the Bienio Azañísta appeared to be marked by the implacable antagonisms between the two interpretations of Margall’s ideology, which were personified by José Franchy and Eduardo Barriobero. Those two men wanted the dialectics to come back so it faced benignant people to inflexible people. The Franchy’s reading about the 1984 program was clearly Republican while the one who was “Barrioberist” pretended to identify itself with the anarcho-syndicalism. This volume tackles the details of a marginal republicanism, which constitutes, in the Spanish historiography, an unknown subject until now.
