  • Abel Paz, fill de pares camperols, va néixer a Almeria el 1921. L’any 1929 la seva família s’instal·là a Barcelona on, des del 1932 fins al 1935, va anar a l’escola racionalista Natura, a la barriada del Clot. L’any 1935, començà a treballar com a aprenent en una fàbrica tèxtil i, de llavors data la seva adhesió a la CNT i a les Joventuts Llibertàries, organitzacions en les que milità durant el període revolucionari que s’inicià el 19 de juliol del 1936. Fou combatent a les Jornades de maig del 1937 i mantingué, des d’aleshores, una posició crítica dins del Moviment Llibertari.
