Segundo Premio al Libro Mejor Editado en 2003, en la modalidad de Libro Técnico de Investigación y Erudición, otorgado por el Ministerio de Cultura. Felipe II, tras decidir el emplazamiento final del Monasterio de San Lorenzo, creó un entorno coherente a su magnífico proyecto paisajístico. Para ello adquirió La Fresneda, una de las heredades cercanas al Monasterio. Supervisadas por el propio monarca, comenzaron las obras de jardinería, ingeniería y arquitectura, que transformaron a un pequeño poblado en un encantador alojamiento natural y cortesano. Este trabajo (Premio Internacional Carlo Scarpa para el Jardín) es un análisis minucioso del entorno natural y arquitectónico de La Fresneda.
